This course is designed to provide an understanding of both the fundamentals of contract law and the applicability of key statutory law to our contracts as well as a number if basic legal concepts. It examines the creation of legally binding contracts, the Battle of the Forms and the ease with which binding arrangements may in inadvertently agreed. The meaning and implication of many frequently used phrases and terms are also considered. The course is aimed specifically at Purchasing and Contracts staff but will also be beneficial to Business Development and Project staff responsible for requesting and submitting bids for raising purchase order requisitions on suppliers. Case law is used throughout to illustrate the points discussed.
